Rabies Alert A rabid cat has been found on the Fort Meade grounds. Residents are advised at this time to not feed, approach or touch any cats outside. Also avoid any raccoons, groundhogs, or other outdoor mammal. Please read Fort Meade's new policy on rabies. Report any injury, bite or scratch by a wild or stray animal to the Directorate of Emergency Services at 301-677-6622. |

Blood Drive October 4th
Please support this effort. Most of the blood drawn will go to our wounded
military personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan and in CONUS medical facilities.
Blood will be drawn by a team from the armed services blood program (ASBP)
out of Bethesda National Naval Medical Center.

Effective immediately the Craig Street area of Meuse Forest has been posted for no fishing or water activities until further notice due to a sewage overflow estimated at 50,000 gallons. Please avoid unnecessary contact with streamwater, streambed, or other treated areas. (Limited Access) The Fort Meade Rod and Gun Club, the Fort Meade Outdoor Recreation Branch, and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources will co-sponsor a Youth Fishing Rodeo on October 1, 2005. The event will be conducted at Burba Lake, Fort Meade, Maryland. Participation will be open to all DOD personnel and their related family members. Interested individuals must have access to Fort Meade via proper DOD identification and DOD vehicle registration. Event registration will be conducted in Burba Park Cottage.
