"This
is my case for embracing Judaism. I made this device in 2010 after
a day in synagogue on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Its
basically a scaled up beard. I bought the original beard in a
joke shop in Bournemouth and took photos of myself and my family,
with my father and mother taking turns to wear it. I put the photos
in the case as a reminder of the event and connected the images
to the control box inside.
The large beard is also wired up to the control box...the wires
are kind of like two umbilical cords, one from my mother and the
other from my father. My mother wasnt born Jewish but she
converted when she married my father. I know it sounds a bit crazy
but I sometimes wear the beard like an apron or bib when Im
cooking certain Jewish recipes. It makes me feel more connected
to my roots and the control box is configured to send short Talmudic
commentaries to my brain."
