Combining the ecstatic energetic state of the mystical with the agnostic and iterative nature of the scientific, Suzanne Treister’s “From SURVIVOR (F) to The Escapist BHST (Black Hole Spacetime)” (2016-2019) takes the form of alchemical diagrams, cosmic maps, and visual science-fiction impressions.
Transporting us to an imaginary state, Treister relocates the mind and asks us to make a hallucinatory jump in order to enter a disembodied viewing state and reflect on ideas of historical lineage, emerging futures, radical technology, alternative belief systems, and potential other worlds.
