The ICOLS Lexicon
The ICOLS Lexicon is a lexicon in which the definitions of the words are provided by ICOLS members.
Words for the first instalment of the Lexicon have been selected from the Concise Oxford Dictionary (1962 edition). Future selections will be from other books (Brewer’s Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, Bradshaw’s Railway Guide, Roget’s Thesaurus) and from dictionaries, and other publications, in languages other than English.
This project will enhance the role of ICOLS in furthering geolinguistic understanding, as well as promoting interlinguistic enquiry through parallel perception and metaderivation.
