Steve Wigg`s first project for ICOLS will investigate religious fanaticism in Elizabethan England and Renaissance Italy. It will primarily focus on the acrimony between the fervour of the new Protestantism and the fear of the old Catholicism, coming up against the logic of the new science, and how the religious extremists bullied the scientists (who were no angels themselves). The project will also address seventies architecture.
